Sometimes in life we need to pull ourselves up by our boot straps, suck it up, and keep truckin.  Life can deal us all sorts of hands and with that there can be an occasional ugly hand in there; but its in these times that we need to keep moving forward, no matter at what pace, just as long as its forward.  I learned something today from a bug.  Yep a little old boxelder bug.  He caught my eye, circling the top of the lamp.  Every few seconds I would see him pass. I couldn’t resist, and so I filmed him.  Completely oblivious to the world around him, he had a one track mind, the light was all he saw. I thought it was a marvelous site, a bug that knew what he wanted and was going to stop at nothing in achieving it.  He needed the light and circling the warmth is what he got.  As long as he had the light he was content.  He circled and circled just by putting his legs in front of the others.  I am sure many have heard the saying “Life isn’t a race, it’s a marathon”  many times before, but for me, this sight especially rang true in that.  Although, I would also like to add, that the marathon would be much better with a little perspective.  Life will always be more enjoyable if we look at it as something that was given, as in a gift, and not deserved. Life is truly what you make of it, it’s totally up to you.  Will you run life as a race, or will you keep on keepin on towards the warmth…. May this Holiday Season bring all of us the perspective of warmth.  Happy Holidays to you all!

Life does not owe you anything, it’s a privilege to live and breathe one breath….anything more than that is a gift, not a right.

It’s a sad day when a one of the blessed few get the honor of showing their talent on National TV, only to be very ungrateful and harbor such a sour attitude with resentment because they weren’t in the top ratings.  Since when is it someone’s ‘right’ to be on TV, to be a celebrity, to get the so-called “big break” or get paid generously for what they love to do?  What happened to the days where it was a blessing to have a good job, earn your living with the hard labor of the hands? What ever happened to paying for the meals on your table instead of standing on a corner with a sign? What happened to the times where it was satisfying to go to work and know you were supporting your family or yourself?  What happened to the respect and reverence of the elderly with the wisdom they carried no matter how old or grumpy they got? What happened to actually spending time with friends and family with a good conversation in person and not through using your fingers and typing little letters on a screen? What happened to being able to spank a spoiled child? What happened to children actually being raised by parents while not being left behind or forgotten? Since when is it a right to disregard others property, time and money for the right of your said cause no matter how just it is?  How is it ok to break one amendment for another? How is it ok, to taunt and probe into the faces and pockets of the law-abiding citizens by egging on retaliation, then to turn and point fingers, as if you had no part in it?  Are we all that ignorant to not see history repeating itself? To think that a protest will end in a good result under such circumstances or a peace march will in fact only be carried out in peace? What caused the decaying epidemic of this selfish self-righteousness entitled generation?

The Life values of the past have lost their way and have all since vanished.  I am not so sure the future is brighter.  Unfortunately, some things are truly better left in the past….

A friend of mine had on her fb status a quote from another stating something to the fact that fear is the antithesis and enemy of love. It got me thinking of a well know blue muppet….Fear is the cookie monster of love.  Just like the Cookie Monster, fear has a voracious appetite.  It sneaks around lingering for its next victim to devour. It preys on the innocent, it preys on the ones who try to protect, it preys on all who are capable.  Fears ‘main course’ is our basic necessity and requirement to survive in this world.  You might not notice from afar, but when you are near, you hear it repeating “Me want Love, Om om om om,  Me want love”.  Fear will eat anything in its path, gobbling everything that lays down in view.  If you let fear creep in, love will disappear and the only evidence you see will be the remaining crumbs of what once was known as love.
